We believe the best photos come from authenticity. While we love beautifully posed portraits, it’s the candid moments—the stolen glances, heartfelt tears, and uncontrollable laughter—that tell the real story of your day. - Adaptability and Professionalism
Weddings can be unpredictable, whether it’s shifting weather or changing light. At Labrot Studios, we adapt seamlessly to any situation, ensuring your photos are stunning regardless of the circumstances. We know how much thought goes into every detail of your wedding, from the intricate lace on your dress to the monogrammed cuff links. Our photographers honor these details, ensuring no special touch is overlooked in your photos. - Telling Your Story Through Photos
Some moments defy words, but a photo can bring them to life. The quiet breath as you see yourself fully dressed for the first time, the sparkle in your partner’s eyes as you walk down the aisle—our images let you share these moments with those you love and relive them whenever you look back.
Let us make your wedding day unforgettable. At Labrot Studios, we create more than photos—we craft timeless treasures.
How would you describe your style?
The best way to describe our style is 'all-encompassing! Parts of the day are wedding photojournalism; documenting emotions and events; and, parts of the day are created and styled... all together, these make up your unique wedding day images that capture your love, emotion and personality, ... authentically. Your wedding photography (and video), are really the only aspects of your wedding day that are not tangible on the day of. They are something magic that happens and is delivered later; however, besides each other, it is the only thing besides your memories that you have all said and done. Our advice: ‘stay-present’, you will create better memories and have a better experience... and ultimately better pictures.
Our style blends authentic, emotion-driven photography with a creative documentary approach. We aim to capture your wedding’s story as it unfolds naturally while crafting timeless portraits. Every wedding is unique, and we adapt to the energy, personalities, and moments that define your day.
Photography is one of the few aspects of your wedding day that lasts beyond the day itself. Our advice? Stay present. The more immersed you are in your special day, the more magical your memories will be—and the better your photos will reflect the joy of the moment.

Where do you stand?
Prejudice is an emotional commitment to ignorance. - Nathan Rutstein
- We, at Labrot Studios, speak out against the devastating racial injustices that continue to plague our country. We condemn the prejudice, bias and hatred targeted toward the Black community and people of color. To be silent is to be complicit, and it is not nearly enough to be quietly non-racist, it is the time to be loud, and vocally anti-racist. #blacklivesmatter #icantbreathe #8:46 #enoughisenough
- Our style is “all-encompassing", and with clients, it is also all-inclusive. As a wedding photographer working in Northern California and the greater Sacramento Valley, this especially applies to weddings. We support gender equality and marriage equality whether you identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, questioning, intersex, pan-sexual, two-spirit, androgynous, or asexual.
- We also know that this list is ever-evolving, and apologize if we have left out any individual or group. In addition, if you are gender-fluid, cisgender, nonbinary, or one of the other 61 genders we will always address you by your pronoun. We are and will continue to be open and accepting of all couples, and we are honored to be a part of your wedding day. #humanrights #LGBTTQQIP2SAA #loveislove #lovewins #marriageequality
- We stand for the dignity and respect of all cultures and religions, and honor the rich traditions and diverse expressions of faith and culture that define our communities. We unequivocally stand against antisemitism and all forms of cultural and religious discrimination. Whether celebrating Jewish traditions like breaking the glass or the beauty of customs from other faiths and cultures, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and joyful experience for everyone. Your story matters, and we are honored to capture its unique beauty. #standagainsthate #unityindiversity
FOR THE NEWLY ENGAGED
What should I wear for my engagement session?
We recommend choosing outfits that feel like you while complementing your surroundings. Consider bringing one dressy and one casual look. Coordinated colors, comfortable layers, and subtle accessories make a significant impact. Avoid loud patterns, words, or logos that might distract from the focus: your connection.
Accessories like scarves, hats, or your well-behaved pet can add a personal touch. Above all, wear something that makes you feel confident and free to move comfortably—it’ll shine through in the photos!
How do I choose the right wedding photographer?
Finding the perfect photographer is about more than price or packages. Look for someone whose style resonates with you and whose personality puts you at ease. Schedule a consultation to discuss your vision and see if their approach aligns with your needs. At Labrot Studios, we strive to make the process seamless and ensure your photography reflects your unique love story.
How do I ensure I get the pictures I want?
Communication and planning are key. Share your priorities with us, and we’ll help you create a timeline that allows room for creative and spontaneous moments. Rest assured, we’ll adapt to the flow of the day to ensure all the important memories are captured beautifully.
THE WEDDING DAY
What is a first look, and should we do one?
A first look is a private moment for you and your partner to see each other before the ceremony. It helps ease nerves, allows for intimate portraits, and gives you more time to enjoy your cocktail hour. While we love the romantic energy of a first look, the decision is entirely yours. We’ll work with your timeline to make your day seamless, no matter what you choose.
What if we’re having a nighttime or indoor wedding?
No problem! We come prepared to handle any lighting scenario, from soft candlelight to vibrant dance floors. With years of experience, we ensure your photos are stunning regardless of the setting.
Do you need a shot list for the wedding?
We don’t require a detailed shot list, but we do ask for a list of any important family groupings or unique details you’d like us to capture. This helps us focus on the moments that matter most to us.
